Finding a Charter Organization

Recommended Posts

Each Frontier Girls troop or Quest Club is independently owned and operated. Unlike other scouting style programs, Frontier Girls LLC is not a 501(c)3 non-profit and is not an organization that you join.  We simply sell membership subscriptions to our websites, similar to purchasing curriculum, where you will find all of our programming materials and a license to use our name and uniform in your youth programming. Most troops or clubs are owned and operated by a local non-profit such as a church, school, veteran's organization, etc. as part of their youth programming which we call Charter Organizations.  Having your troop/club operated by a non-profit will provide you with liability insurance, financial oversight, a place to meet, and non-profit status which helps with fundraising. Brainstorm organizations in your community that you think would be a good fit with the Frontier Girls or Quest program. Examples might include:

  • Churches
  • Schools (both public and private)
  • Veteran's Organizations (American Legion, VFW posts, etc.)
  • Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, etc.
  • Homeschooling Co-ops
  • YMCA
  • 4H
  • Local Library
  • Local businesses such as fitness clubs or country clubs
  • Local Fire Departments, gun clubs, and recreational associations have also been known to charter troops and clubs

Brochures and other materials are available upon request to help in making presentations to potential charter organizations.  You may also download the following materials that may help you with getting an organization to charter your Frontier Girls troop.  While these letters are designed for the Frontier Girls program they can be adapted for use in the Quest program by simply substituting your club name and logo if you have one and adapting the wording to meet the needs and goals of your individual club.
